WHAT YEAR IS THIS CHORUS 1 Hold up, what year is this? It's the weirdest ish Did somebody just call me a n.....? Yeah, go figure I thought that we were bigger I guess the news never got delivered It feels like I'm caught in the matrix Why is everybody still thinking so basic I've gotta find a way to build myself a spaceship And navigate the galaxies and find new places VERSE 1 Hold up, is that still cool Is that still the way that we really wanna move We wanna take a word that was used as a tool For spiritual suppression and increase it's use I know you understand that this word carries energy No matter you try you can't get pass it's legacy And yeah yeah I know you're gonna say it's just a word But you need to observe what occurs when it's heard So step from the herd and think for yourself There's power in words so I think for your health You need to be aware that your spirit is affected Every time you hear this word get ejected From the lips of your people Ignorance is bliss but it's power is lethal When you trying to get a little juice in this vehicle And get everybody on a level that's equal, come on now people CHORUS 2 Hold up, what year is this? It's the weirdest ish These so called leaders still fighting wars? Come on take a pause Think for a minute the responsibility for all the violence is yours It feels like I'm caught in the matrix Why is everybody still thinking so basic I've gotta find a way to build myself a spaceship And navigate the galaxies and find new places VERSE 2 So what do you think's gonna come back When you try to solve your problems with combat It's about time you moved beyond that Little ego and try to make contact With that, inner child that only knew love What happened, mama didn't give enough hugs Were you bullied at school, your child hood rough? Then why so angry now you're grown up? Come on, grow up! Stop being a hypocrite I mean my 8 year old is getting sick of it How can you say that killing is illegal Then turn around and celebrate the murder of people What? They're not quite as equal? Oh I get, Animal Farm, this is the sequel right Ok, let's carry on playing the game And pretend that we're not insane CHORUS 3 Hold up, what year is this? It's the weirdest ish Are you telling me religion’s still relevant? Please, where’s the evidence? Are we really gonna keep walking round this room and ignore that elephant? It feels like I'm caught in the matrix Why is everybody still thinking so basic I've gotta find a way to build myself a spaceship And navigate the galaxies and find new places VERSE 3 Ok so you believe in God you believe in the Devil If you believe in the Devil then on some level You should be prepared to accept the position There's a 50/50 chance the devil started religion Now listen, do you not think the Devil is smart enough To put together a plan to keep us apart? And what separates us more than these rituals That we derive from text that we claim are spiritual? I'm just saying, the possibilty is there, You weren't there so how can you really swear That these text were the wd of God When the chance that the Devil is behind them is not that hard To believe, just look at what'ss been achieved In the name of religion I mean people please Just take some time to chew before you swallow And don't let fear dictate your tomorrow

about

“This is not my profession, This is me living,
This is me everyday, this is me giving,
My thoughts, my soul, over these rhythms,
This is my follow through with my decisions....”

With a different sound not instantly recognised from his previous offerings, Blee has thrown all caution to the wind, adding a new flavour mixed with his unmistakable traditional flow to jump-start all your rhythm buds....He goes from addressing the establishment in the consciously mellow ‘At Eaze’, to showing no fear in the Dancehall hyped ‘Barefoot’, unfolding his heart in the beautiful ‘Moments like these’ to causing chaos and raising eyebrows in the provocative ‘What Year is this’.
